Those seeking a culinary adventure need look no further than the Sheraton’s Colombo Kitchen. The signature restaurant of the hotel, which falls under the Marriot International umbrella and is part of Marriott Bonvoy’s portfolio of over 30 brands, presents an extravagant dinner buffet that will satisfy even the most sophisticated palate.

It’s an extensive medley of Indian, Western, and Asian dishes, with many dishes being prepared to order, providing a healthier approach to buffet dining while still keeping the flavours paramount.

A standout feature of the buffet is the live grill station, which is laid out with a tempting array of meats and seafood, including barramundi, pangasius, shoe lobster, sea crab and lagoon crab, all grilled to perfection. There is a customisable noodle station, and for those craving Italian, a customisable pasta station and Neapolitan-style pizzas.

Light salads, terrines, poached seafood, oysters, and sushi whet one’s appetite for the rest of the delicious Indian and East Asian dishes on offer. Many dishes true to the national cuisine, from curries such as Jaffna crab, pumpkin, and tripe to accompany rice, kottu, pittu, and hoppers are also included. Guests can end their meals at a live crepe station, pick from an extensive dessert selection or explore the selection of fruits and cheeses.

Curating the spread is Executive Chef Karan Talpade, who has done stints as Executive Sous Chef at The Luxury Collection in the UAE, Chef De Cuisine at the Ritz-Carlton Dubai, and Chef De Cuisine/Sous Chef roles at Marriott Marquis Doha. “The Colombo Kitchen menu is a celebration of Sri Lanka’s rich culinary heritage and our commitment to sustainable, locally sourced ingredients. From the live seafood grill station showcasing the fresh catch of the day to the diverse range of cuisines catered to global palates,” he elaborates.

The dinner buffet (Rs 8,000 nett), served daily from 7 p.m. to 10.30 p.m., caters to 150 guests in a spacious and elegant setting.
