Eagles’ Quadrangle Cup concludes at China Bay
View(s):The Sri Lanka Air Force and the Eagles’ Golf Links and Course hosted the Eagles’ Quadrangle Cup, an inter-club golf tournament in the spectacular settings of China Bay, the closest to the harbour city of Trincomalee.
Royal Colombo Golf Club, captained by Tharanga Gunasekara, won the Eagles’ Quadrangle Cup trophy, securing the highest marks in the entire tournament. Group Captain Crishantha Fernando and Air Vice Marshal Sampath Wickremaratne received the awards for the Nearest to the Pin and the Longest Drive in the Gents’ Category, while Sanduni Wansinghe took the honours for both the Nearest to the Pin and the Longest Drive in the Ladies’ Category. The awards for Best Overall Net Score and Best Overall Gross Score were secured by Haroon Aslam.
The Eagles’ Golf Link, Royal Colombo Golf Club, Victoria Golf Resort, and Nuwara Eliya Golf Club competed for honours, with each team comprising 15 players, including a minimum of two female participants. The final scores were determined by considering the top 10 scores from each team. The Air Force Commander participated in the first tee-off signifying the start of the tournament.
The Commander of the Air Force, Air Marshal Udeni Rajapaksa, graced the tournament as the chief guest. DIMO came on board as the main sponsor and Bank of Ceylon as the banking partner while CATIC was involved as a co-sponsor. The awards for the Inter-Club Eagles’ Quadrangle Cup were presented by the Commander of the Air Force, Air Marshal Udeni Rajapaksa, the Chief of Staff, Air Vice Marshal Sampath Wickremaratne, and other dignitaries.
