Women’s T20 Asia Cup 2024 begin on July 19

The eagerly anticipated Women’s T20 Asia Cup 2024 featuring eight nations will kick off on July 19, 2024 in Dambulla. Sri Lanka, India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, UAE, Nepal, Malaysia, and Thailand are set to compete in this key event in women’s cricket in Asia.

India, Pakistan, UAE, and Nepal will battle it out in Group ‘A’, while Group ‘B’ will see host Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Malaysia, and Thailand in contention.
The tournament will consist 15 games, including two semi-finals and the final.

Sri Lanka will begin their Asia Cup campaign against Bangladesh on July 20 at 7:00pm. The tournament will start with UAE facing Nepal at 2:00pm on the opening day,
(July 19) followed by an exciting match between India and Pakistan at 7:00pm. Sri Lanka Cricket Vice President Ravin Wickremaratne will be the Tournament Director.

“Sri Lanka Cricket, with the backing of the Asian Cricket Council, aims to organise a highly successful tournament. A positive outcome will contribute significantly to the advancement of women’s cricket on the global stage,” stated Wickramaratne, Vice President of Sri Lanka Cricket.

All tournament matches will be broadcast live on international platforms, and the
stadium will be open to the
public for free entry.
