Yevan David makes podium finish in F3 Netherlands
View(s):Sri Lankan, Yevan David’s entry into Formula 3 Racing in the fifth round of Euro Cup 3 at Zandvoort, the Netherlands concluded over the weekend ended on a sensational note.
David’s performance as a rookie driver was most noteworthy in that he was driving a Formula 3 car for the first time in wet weather conditions on a track unfamiliar to him. Despite these issues he recorded the fastest time for the first sector during qualifying and secured 13th position on the grid for Race No. 2.
A well-judged and skillful racing by David during the final race saw him moving from the 13th position to seventh in the pole with a masterly double overtake, which ensured him a podium finish as the third rookie of the competition.
The race concluded last Sunday at the Circuit Zandvoort in the Netherlands. Euro Cup 3 is a step up from Formula 4 and utilises the same chassis as Formula 3 Regional.
