Priyantha Colambage’s latest film ‘Mandara’, a tale based on three true stories that took place in recent past, is now being shown in cinemas around the country.

Priyantha Colombage made his come back with a story which depicts love and its consequences. Priyantha has gifted several popular films to the Sinhala cinema industry, such as ‘Dehena’, ‘Arumosam Wahi’, ‘Dedunu Akase’ and ‘Adaraneeya Kathawak’.

He has also introduced several famous names to the movie Industry such as Hemal Ranasinghe, Chulakshi Ranatunga and Aruni Rajapakse; where, they are able to establish themselves as mostly sought after movie stars in the Sinhala cinema industry today, yet another milestone of his cinematic journey.

Produced by Mahen Perera for Blueshift and Creative Force Production, the film stars Megha Suriyaarachchi, Bimal Jayakody, Chulakshi Ranatunga, Chanuka Prabudda, Saheli Sadithma Satharasinghe, Semini Iddamalgoda, Chandani Seneviratne, Ajith Lokuge, Lakshman Mendis, Himali Sayurangi, Dinakshie Priyasad, Isuru Lokuhettiarachchi, Madani Malwaththa, Priyankara Rathnayake, and Keerthi Ratnayake.

Narrating around Vishwa, a young architect by profession gets married to Mandara, a sports coach. But Mandara, who comes to know about Vishwa’s natural weakness is shattered and their relationship leads to an unexpected juncture.  After Mandara and Vishwa’s romance leads to heartbreak, their paths cross with Yashoda, on the run from her murderous uncle, aiming to seize the family fortune.

Their fates intertwine in a story of love, loss, and resilience, leading to a dramatic showdown and a heartwarming conclusion, all set against the backdrop of Sri Lanka’s stunning landscapes and accompanied by a captivating soundtrack.

In the technical staff, Ruwan Costa is the cinematographer, Priyantha Colambage and Wajira Kasthuri wrote the screenplay, Kavindha Colambage is the editor and Milinda Tennnakone-music director. Make up by Nalin Prematillake, sound designing by Diran Wijesinghe, art direction by Mangala Fernando and production manager of ‘Mandara’ is Nimal Senadhira. (SF)
