Sheema Safwan of Ilma International Girls’ School secured her place in the national pool after an impressive performance at the Open Karate Championships 2024, organised by the Sri Lanka Karate-Do Federation. The competition was the platform where talented martial artists competed in the Cadet, Junior, Under-21, and Senior categories.

Among the standout performers were students from Ilma International Girls’ School who made their mark with commendable achievements. Sheema Safwan, competing in the 14-15 Female Kumite 61kg category, secured an impressive third position. Her exceptional performance earned her a well-deserved spot in the national pool.

Sheema’s selection highlights her potential and is a proud moment for Ilma International Girls’ School. Additionally, Minha Mahfel represented the school in the 16-17 Female Kumite 53kg category, showcasing the school’s commitment to nurturing talent in various fields. The achievements and participation of our students reflect the school’s emphasis on excellence in sports.
