Royal Institute of Colombo hosted their Inter-School Debating Championship for the 4th consecutive year
View(s):The Inter School Debating Championship (ISDC) 2024, organised by the Law Students’ Association of Royal Institute of Colombo (LSARIC), was a big success. The event celebrated the art of debate and showcased the skills of Sri Lanka’s brightest young minds.
At RIC, we believe in helping students grow in all areas. This competition is part of our effort to encourage critical thinking and public speaking among students. ISDC 2024 took place on July 27th and 28th, featuring talented debaters from schools all over Sri Lanka.
Royal College, claimed victory at the ISDC 2024, with Gateway College, as the runners-up. The championship final was conducted in RIC’s Moot Court.
The event brought together over 80 students from more than 20 top schools across Sri Lanka, including both national and international institutions. Schools from various regions, such as Trinity College Kandy, Hillwood College Kandy, St. Bridget’s Convent, and Musaeus College, contributed to a rich and varied competition. These students showcased their debating talents, highlighting the widespread interest and skill in public speaking.
