Prasad Kalupahana’s debut directorial venture ‘Kambili’, a story revolving around a remote village and the evils that are engulfed in it will be released from August 8 in theatres around the country.

Set in the backdrop of a beautiful remote village, the story begins when two friends Kalana and Banuka from an urban background visit the village to get ayuruvedic treatment from renowned Ayuruvedic physician. Having observed Kalana, the Ayuruvedic doctor assures that Kalana could be cured provided he stays in the village for a few days. The two friends agree and they lodge at Lalitha whose son had died under mysterious circumstances. While undergoing treatment, the two friends come to know about various nefarious activities that have been taking place in the village and carried out by one Titus. Lalitha says that Titus was responsible for the death of her son as well. A politician in the area together with the Ayuruvedic physician takes the initiative to save the youth from Titus. In the meantime Banuka falls in love with Samadhi’s physicians’ only daughter.
