Free Palestine and global justice activists held a protest in Town Hall, Colombo to demand and immediate halt to what they call a genocide in Gaza. The demonstrators highlighted the importance of a ceasefire in Gaza where so far more than 40,000 people, more than half of them children, have been killed in Israel’s attacks that started on October 7 last year after some 1200 people were killed during a raid on Israeli town by Palestinian resistance group Hamas. The group’s political leader Ismail Haniyeh was killed on Wednesday during an attack while he was in Teheran to attend the inauguration of Iran’s president. Pix by Priyanka Samaraweera
