TOPCon Panels to emerge as dominant choice in world solar energy market
View(s):N-Type TOPCon cells have emerged as the dominant choice in the world solar panel market, topping other technological pathways.
Solar cells are semiconductor devices to convert solar energy into electricity and their efficiency can be analysed in the same way as general light-detecting diodes.
Today, polycrystalline silicon (including multicells) and monocrystalline silicon solar cells are widely commercialised. The polycrystalline silicon solar cells have lower efficiencies but also have lower manufacturing costs than the monocrystalline silicon solar cells. The low acquisition and aggregate installation costs will help bolster the growth of the solar power industry.
“This sustainable emerging trend has pushed Eco Solar Rays Ltd., to also bring down this type of solar panels manufactured by electrical giant Sharp, for the local consumers,” Kasun Kaldera, Chief Engineer of Eco Solar Pvt Ltd said in a company media release.
He declared, “TOPCon has been instrumental in driving down costs and raising efficiency in photovoltaics.” Its high photovoltaic conversion efficiency, well-established machinery and procedures, and mass-production efficiency are its main benefits. Ultra-thin silicon oxide and silicon nitride layers function as tunnelling layers in TOPCon technology, improving open-circuit voltage, decreasing surface recombination losses, and reaching conversion efficiencies of more than 22 per cent.”
“The Sharp brand with a wide variety of history in electrical appliance manufacturing is the only brand in the solar panel PV module, which has 60 years of experience in the solar energy sector currently,” Mr. Kaldera said. There is a 30-year performance warranty for the n – type PV module and a 20-year product warranty, granted by Eco Solar Rays which is the only exclusive agent for Sharp brand which brings down this type of solar panels, he added.
While being manufactured in China, the Sharp brand is verified and vetted by German technology and brought down by Eco Solar, the media release said.
“The Sharp brand is backed by 60 years of history in solar panel manufacturing and is a brand which is very synonymous with other electrical appliances bringing the latest technology into the market,” it added.
