Colleges of Education to be digitalised

Education Minister Susil Premajayantha has proposed to the Chinese Government to digitalise Colleges of Education which are being converted into universities.

This is the third stage of the digitalisation programme after the first two stages of school digitalisation.

USD 20 million was allocated for the first two stages which commences from next month.

The Chinese Government has agreed to support the third stage of the programme to digitalise the universities to be set up, he said.

The Government has proposed to convert 19 Colleges of Education into universities.

Minister Premajayantha said through the digitalisation programme they could link all the universities enabling them to conduct lectures uninterrupted. -DWI
