Drama is a form of performance involving emotions and the portrayal of human experiences through dialogue and action. It typically presents a story or situation that engages the audience’s emotions, evoking intense feelings such as tension, excitement and empathy.

In my humble opinion drama develops children’s speech and improves communication and presentation skills. In other words, drama enhances verbal and nonverbal expression of ideas. It improves voice projection, articulation of words, fluency with language and persuasive speech. Listening and observation skills develop by playing drama games, being in an audience, rehearsing and performing. Furthermore, dramatic play can help children learn real-life and social skills that serve them throughout their lives.

Dramatic activity motivates children to write for a range of purposes. Drama allows children to explore, discuss, deal with difficult issues, and express their emotions in a supportive environment. It enables them to explore their cultural values and those of others, past and present.
