The SLIIT Global Pathways programme stands out for its collaboration with universities consistently ranked among the world’s best. According to the QS World University Rankings 2024, the University of Edinburgh ranks 22nd globally, the University of Queensland stands at 43rd, and the University of Western Australia is placed 90th. This partnership with top-tier institutions reinforces SLIIT’s commitment to providing Sri Lankan students with access to internationally recognised, high-quality education.
A key feature of SLIIT Global Pathways is the opportunity for Sri Lankan students to begin their world-class education at home at a reduced cost, with guaranteed entry into the University of Western Australia, University of Edinburgh, or University of Queensland for their final year(s) of study. Through SLIIT the University of Edinburgh offers two undergraduate engineering programmes: the BEng (Hons) Civil Engineering and the BEng (Hons) Electrical and Electronic Engineering.
The BEng (Hons) Civil Engineering programme prepares students to become future-ready civil engineers capable of shaping and sustaining the changing world. The comprehensive programme enables specialisation in structural engineering, environmental engineering, construction management, geotechnical engineering, and fire safety engineering, with a strong emphasis on both individual and group engineering design projects. The programme is also structured to meet the evolving needs of the engineering sector, preparing students for careers in construction companies, specialist subcontractors, and government authorities.
The BEng (Hons) Electrical and Electronic Engineering programme provides a comprehensive study of both electrical and electronics engineering.
