This August, we bring to you all things sweet and wholesome with:

Milk and Honey Café

Hidden behind a beautiful bookstore lies a quaint café space serving up an array of wholesome good food and beverages. With a peaceful outdoor and indoor seating area, Milk and Honey Café strives to serve up food that is good for your body without compromising on the deliciousness.

On their well-thought-out menu is a variety of savoury items, wraps and bowls to pastas and breakfast options. “We try our best to use ingredients that are good for the body- like adding probiotics in our smoothies, serving cold-pressed juices, sweetening our desserts using natural sugars like coconut, jaggery and dates than refined sugar,” said the mom-boss explaining on the extra love they shower the customer with through what they prepare.

The space is shared with a bookstore that also facilitates some great local vendors that you are bound to get lost in among the many cool and creative gift items that are up for sale.

Milk and Honey recommends:

Morning Greens- a probiotic smoothie consisting of banana, kale, dates, chia seeds and kefir.

Spicy Pumpkin and Paneer Wrap – roasted pumpkin raita, paneer and salad leaves wrapped in whole-meal flatbread.

Seared Tuna Bowl- Japanese rice topped with bell pepper, raddish and avocado with soya and sesame oil dressing.

Don’t forget to check out the counter and ask for their selection of cakes and treats like the carrot cake, chocolate jaggery cake, and an assortment of bars, tarts, brownies and cookies made in-house.

Café Torta

Anyone with a sweet tooth is welcome at this cosy café hidden in Ward Place. Decorated in pink and blues, it serves up homemade cakes and desserts along with a good selection of hot and cold beverages.

Talking about her humble beginnings as a home baker Sharmila Thusharnthan said, “I don’t want to complicate or overdo the menu. This place is solely all things sweet.” On the counter, you can find freshly made cakes without extravagant frills and decorations that can be enjoyed with a delicious hot or cold coffee-based beverage. “We also hope to add a variety of ice creams to our menu,” she added. It’s the ideal place to chill and drown your sorrows in an insta-worthy picture-perfect Tres Leches or a Pavlova or Pancakes.

Café Torta recommends:

Strawberry Creama Cheesecake Cuppies- a rich decadent creamy mousse no-bake Cheesecake.
