View(s):A heartwarming story that aims to inspire and uplift, ‘The Amazing Lemonade Girl’ presented by Clutch Plays Theatre and directed by Mayaan Haputantri and Hasanga Liyanagunawardena will be staged at the Kamatha Hall, BMICH, from September 5 – 8 at 7.30 p.m. On the 7th and 8th (Saturday and Sunday) there will be matinée shows (3.30 p.m.).
“The Amazing Lemonade Girl” tells the inspiring true story of a young girl’s remarkable courage and determination. Despite battling a rare form of paediatric cancer, Alex Scott started a lemonade stand at the age of four to raise funds for cancer research. Her legacy that started with one cup of lemonade has grown into a global movement. The play embodies her spirit of joy, hope and resilience.
In line with the play’s message of hope and support, Clutch Plays Theatre will donate the full proceeds from the show to the Indira Cancer Trust’s paediatric cancer programme.
Initiated in 2016, the Indira Cancer Trust has supported hundreds of cancer patients and their families through initiatives like the Suwa Arana programme which offers a comforting home away from home for underprivileged families who must travel long distances for their child’s treatment and care.
