Crystal Property Group triumphs at 113th Shakspeare Shield
The 113th edition of the prestigious Shakspeare Shield was won by Mohamed Omar Mizran and Reza Magdon Ismail of Crystal Property Group with 38 points. They edged out Dr. Manjula Karunaratne and Ranil Pathirana of Softlogic Holdings, who scored 34 points.
A total of 23 teams competed for glory at this year’s round of Sri Lanka’s pioneering corporate golf tournament, which consists of reputed corporations from various sectors. The 113th Shakspeare Shield was held at the Royal Colombo Golf Club during the last weekend of July.
A competitor in action
The Shakspeare Shield tournament is played in a Stableford format and is the only board event open to corporates. It is a team event where two-member teams from any registered companies, diplomatic institutions, government agencies, police, and the armed forces of Sri Lanka can participate. The tournament is named after W. Shakspeare, a former Chairman of Carson Cumberbatch PLC, who was elected to the RCGC Committee in 1908. Since then, the tournament has been exclusively sponsored by Carson Cumberbatch PLC.
