The National Colleges of Education has digitalised the recruitment process for teacher trainees across the 19 Colleges in the country.

Under the previous system, the recruitment process from the call of applications to registration, was handled manually, which took time.

However, under a programme initiated by Chief Commissioner B G Kalani Hemalie, the digitalisation programme was carried out.

Accordingly, this year, the intake for 2023-25 was completed using the online system, reducing the process to less than four months, from the Education Ministry commencing applications in April 2024 to the final registration of trainees at the Colleges.

The project’s execution was spearheaded by Vice President of Software Engineering Susantha Rathnayake under the guidance of CEO Mohan Fernando of the Informatics Institute of Technology.
The Education Ministry thanked Informatics in a ceremony held at the Ministry recently.
