Ambassador Lenagala presents Letters of Credence in Slovenia

Ambassador of Sri Lanka to Austria and Permanent Representative to the UN and other international organisations in Vienna M R K Lenagala presented Letters of Credence to President of the Republic of Slovenia Nataša Pirc Musar at the Presidential Place, Ljubljana, accrediting him as the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Sri Lanka to Slovenia based in Vienna, on July 23.

The ceremony entailed a guard of honour by the Slovenian armed forces to welcome the ambassador, presentation of credentials and a courtesy call on the President. Ambassador Lenagala conveyed greetings from President Ranil Wickremesinghe to the President which were warmly reciprocated. The President expressed hope that friendly, longstanding bilateral relationship between Sri Lanka and Slovenia would be further strengthened. Reference was made to possibilities for enhancement of
cooperation between the two countries in power and energy, trade, tourism and labour sectors as well as to matters of mutual interest in multilateral flora. State Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs Sanja Štiglic, Chief of Cabinet of the President Ula Tomaduz and the Advisor on the Climate Policy and Human Rights to the President Eva Tomic were present at the meetings.

Ambassador Lenagala had meetings with the Secretary General of the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs Ambassador Renata Cvelbar Bek, Chief Communications Officer of International Research Centre on Artificial Intelligence established under the auspices of UNESCO Mihajela Crnko and Executive Director of the Chamber of Commerce of the Republic of Slovenia Marjana Majeric.

Minister Counsellor of the Embassy of Sri Lanka in Vienna Mahesh Gunawardana accompanied Ambassador M R K Lenagala to the meetings.
