The Institute of Engineering Technology awards the National Diploma in Engineering Sciences to students who complete a 4-year study course.
The University of Vocational Technology and the National Apprentice and Industrial Training Authority agreed to advance the diploma course to the status of Engineering Technology degree.
The Cabinet approved the proposal made by Education Minister Susil Premajayantha to enter into a memorandum of understanding between these two institutes to award Engineering Technology degrees. (KW)
