The Marlow Martinez Foundation (MMF) has partnered with the University of Peradeniya to offer apprenticeships to 100 students, according to Vice Chancellor Professor Terrence Madhujith.

These apprenticeships, focused on skills development in areas such as IT and software development, provide a monthly stipend of Rs 10,000 for five hours of skilled labour over a six-month period.

Students were selected from all 9 faculties of the university, regardless of disciplines, with 70 percent of the opportunities aimed at underprivileged students and the remaining 30 percent recruited based on skills demonstrated during previous MMF workshops and assessments, added Prof Madhujith.
