Lady Gaga’s new single in October
Lady Gaga is to release a new single in October. She made the announcement on Instagram while attending the Venice Film Festival. The unnamed song will be the lead off track from her seventh album that is also due next month. Gaga recently released ‘Die With A Smile’ – a duet with Bruno Mars which is a non- album track.
Queen guitarist suffers a stroke
Queen guitarist Sir Brian May suffered a stroke and was unable to use his left arm temporarily. He was treated at the Frimley Hospital in Surrey, England.
The 77-year-old posted a video message saying the condition does not impede his ability to play the guitar.
Sabrina Carpenter tops the UK charts
Sabrina Carpenter is the new sensation on the UK pop scene. The 25-year-old US artist smashed her way to the top of the UK singles chart this week with ‘Taste’. It’s the third consecutive chart topping song for the Pennsylvania-born artist following ‘Espresso’ and ’Please, Please, Please’. Her third No: 1 in the UK has been achieved within a span of 120 days.
At the same time Carpenter this week has the honour of simultaneously having the No: 1 UK album ‘Short N Sweet’. Like most songs of today ‘Taste’ is a track from the short slacker rock genre. It was co-penned by Carpenter with Amy Allen and the veteran Julia Michaels alongside John Ryan, Ian Kirkpatrick and Julian Bunetta who are also the song’s producers as well.
Meanwhile Carpenter’s last No:1 song ’Please, Please, Please’ returned to the UK Top 10 week rising up from 14 to land at No: 2, while her debut chart topper “Espresso” moved back into the Top 10 from No: 14.
Adele to take a break
Pop star Adele is to take a break from the music scene after she completes her residency at the Colosseum, Caesar’s Palace on November 23. The 36-year-old multi award winning singer concluded a 10-day 80,000 capacity residency in Munich, Germany on August 31. During the latter part of her Munich residency Adele revealed her hiatus will be long. There is speculation Adele will marry her fiancé Rich Paul during the break.
Oasis reunion tour of the UK in 2025
The reunion of the Britpop band Oasis was one the most anticipated news items in recent weeks. After 15 years the Gallagher brothers Noel and Liam finally put their feud behind them to announce a reunion tour of the UK in 2025.
There was heartache and frustration for fans in obtaining concert tickets as most of the time they had to wait on the virtual online queue. To add to it all the original tickets of £150 were reselling from £350 to even a staggering £7000. The UK government had to intervene ordering a probe with the Culture Secretary wanting to ensure fans get tickets at a fair price.
Oasis split while on tour in Paris when Noel and Liam had a very public spat. With a heavy demand for tickets from many parts of the world, the band is likely to add further dates to their tour of the UK and Ireland. Oasis is likely to appease fans with international tour dates too for 2025.
