Odeon back to life at Grand Kandyan

The old ‘Odeon Cinema’ in Kandy was restored at the Grand Kandyan Hotel recently allowing guests to walk down memory lane.
The Grand Kandyan hosted the high tea event themed around the ODEON theatre, celebrating the legacy of the old ‘Odeon Cinema’ that once stood on the site.
‘The event aimed to honour the theatre’s memory, allowing guests to walk down memory lane. We recreated the old ‘Odeon Theme’ from the entrance to the main hall, where the cinema legends along with all old day movie fans were gathered to celebrate this special event’ said Thusith Samaraweera, the General Manager of the Grand Kandyan Hotel.
The gathering was graced by cinema legends Sanath Gunathilake, Sriyani Amarasena, and Nadeeka Gunasekara.
‘It was a resounding success, as it beautifully rekindled cherished memories for all who attended’ he added.
