The Indira Cancer Trust is launching a new initiative -  the TLC Triathlon Series that combines athletic challenge with a mission to promote early breast cancer detection through the Touch, Look, Check (TLC) system.

By bringing together athletes, volunteers, healthcare professionals and the public, the aim is to create a powerful impact on breast cancer awareness

Initiated and organized by the Indira Cancer Trust, in collaboration with event partner G360 and advertising partner Media Monkey, the triathlon will span four cities across the country– Kilinochchi, Batticaloa, Colombo, and Matara – between November 16 and December 7, 2024.

  • Kilinochchi (November 16): The series kicks off in the Northern Province, highlighting the need for accessible healthcare in rural areas.
  • Batticaloa (November 23): This event focuses on community engagement and support, offering opportunities to learn about local healthcare services.
  • Matara (November 30): The focus will shift to the southern region, continuing the awareness campaign.
  • Colombo (December 7, 2024): The series concludes in the capital, hosting the largest event with greater public awareness.

The public are encouraged to join the effort and contribute to the TLC Triathlon in the following ways:

  • Register as a participant: Experienced athletes and beginners alike are welcome and encouraged to push their limits while supporting a critical cause.
  • Volunteer: Volunteers – the backbone of the event – are needed to ensure its smooth operation.
  • Spread the word: Share the TLC Triathlon with friends and family for raising awareness is crucial.

The Trust urges everyone not to miss this opportunity to “be part of something bigger than a race”.
