Trinity College clinched the C. E. Simithraaratchy Trophy with an aggregate score of 24-22, after bouncing back to win the second leg by 17-5 at Pallekele, played prior to the Bradby Shield encounter. Trinity led the halftime 10-5 and scored their points from two converted tries and a penalty, against a solitary unconverted try scored by Royal College.
Skipper Oneja Kodituwakku and Manzil Muthalif scored a try each for Trinity while Amar Faizal put over the two conversions and the penalty in the Under-16 game. In the first leg played two weeks ago in Colombo, Royal beat Trinity by 17-7 after scoring through three tries and a conversion against the solitary converted try by Trinity.
