View(s):The main objective of penning my thoughts on the power of fulfillment in your life is to open your eyes to the fact of “what exactly you need in life” and thereby to lift your spirit and to inspire you during this turbulent time.
Well, the majority of Sri Lankans and elsewhere are in crossroads due to the recent political, health, economical and social crises that have torn apart our peace of mind, positivity and spirits in life.
Childhood Habits And Myths On Happiness:
Since our childhood we desire to accumulate materials starting from toys to luxury car and a Home.
Some also chase behind name and fame.
We believe that acquiring these above contribute to happiness.What a pitty, as soon as you acquire these your happiness diminishes. Not only that by endeavouring to acquire more and more it lead to problems and complications. Therefore is it worthwhile chasing behind “ happiness”.
There is a group of people who work hard to achieve things and there is the other group who works smarter to achieve things.If you ask me which is important in life, In my humble opinion both are equally important like our right and left hands.. We need to be hard working as well as smart working according to situation demands. Irony is that in reality you find a hard working individual cannot think smarter and the smart thinking individual is unable to work hard. Not only the labourers should work hard also the Chairman of a company and even many leaders in the country work harder to excel in their positions.
While both gard working and smart working will give you transient happiness if you focus at a lower level.
As well as if you have low ambition, you will achieve less. and definitely your happiness will disappear as soon as you achieve.
But, if your intentions are higher and bigger and you are eager to help others in your company, neighbourhood, Society and Country, then perhaps your rewards will be higher than mere happiness.
You will be rewarded with “ great joy and enthusiasm” like the spring of water which cannot be measured by monetary values. It is a wealth simply beyond any measuring yard stick.
There is another group of people who does not work at all but they need happiness.
They have only “ wishful thinking”. These people not even buy a lottery ticket but wish to be a millionnaire and to become happiy in life.
Finding Happiness, Joy And Success In Life:
So, if you want happiness focus on small and minor matters and If you want joy you need only to work with a broader mind and you could find“ joy “ in your life forever.
Apart from seeking “happiness” many also expect “ success” in their lives.
People want to be successful in their education, job , career,family life, business, social life, politics and spiritual life.
Let me illustrate a few interesting quotes on success, from my collections;
“Success is peace of mind which is a direct result of self-satisfaction in knowing you did your best to become the best you are capable of becoming.”
“Successful people are not gifted; they just work hard, then succeed on purpose.”
In my humble opinion , “Success is always connected with action”.
The Exact Need:
One may ask me now, then what is important in Life? What do we need?
Is it “ happiness” or “success” or Both. Let me elaborate more on the above-mentioned matter.
Seeking happiness and success are to a greater extend a selfish act. But they are mild and transient.
The main objective of an individual would be “only taking or receiving”.
But “ fulfillment provides you with “ Joy in abundance” and the individual needs to give or Offer to others without any expectation .
Instead of focusing on achieving things, you find true fulfillment by enjoying what you already have. Appreciate what you have rather than focusing on what you lack. Over time, you will learn that when you appreciate what you already have, you will feel a lot more content. In summary, Fulfillment is a feeling of happiness and satisfaction. It is also the completion of something, like the fulfillment of a promise. This word has two related meanings. In terms of emotions, fulfillment is a happy and contented feeling.
Simple acts such as gratitude and thanks giving, being passionate, Lend a helping hand, give, show and express Love to your self, Family, frinds and Society would definitely will yield “ Fulfillment”.
“Fulfillment” is a need. That means you may live without happiness or success as they are mere wants. But it is not possible to live without fulfillment, which is a “ need”.
In my humble experience, it is always better to fulfill the above mentioned need and inculcate this value in your spouse, children, grand children, students, employees and followers in order to leave a “legacy in them”, than to leave a “ legacy for them”.
I hope that I have provided adequate explanation on the values and importance of fulfillment and successfully resolved your concern on exactly what you need in Life.
Hence, in conclusion You need to focus “ fulfillment” which has the power to give you happiness, joy, serenity, tranquility and peace of mind besides success, in Life. Therefore, what exactly you need in life is “fulfillment “. Hence, strive hard to realise the power of fulfillment in your life.
