Queen rocker Brian May spotted watching Sri Lanka- England 3rd Test at Oval
View(s):Queen lead guitarist Sir Brian May has been pictured enjoying a day at the cricket match Sri Lanka -England third Test at the Oval with his wife, ‘EastEnders’ icon Anita Dobson, looking cheery, just days after he revealed that he had suffered a stroke,
This comes days after the 77-year-old rock legend told his fans that he was ‘grounded’ following his health scare, explaining that ‘I’m not allowed to go out – well, I’m not allowed to drive, not allowed to get on a plane, not allowed to raise the heart rate too high’.
The ‘We Will Rock You’ writer had revealed the incident left him temporarily unable to use his left arm and he had a ‘very exciting’ emergency ambulance journey to Frimley Hospital in Surrey.
‘All of a sudden, out of the blue, I didn’t have any control over this arm, so it was a little scary, I have to say,’ he said.
‘The good news is I’m okay. Just doing what I’m told, which is basically nothing’, he added.
After sharing the news of his stroke, Sir Brian reassured fans that he could still play guitar as he twiddled his fingers for emphasis. He praised medical staff for giving him the ‘most fantastic care’.
The rocker had been seen in public just days before the scare, appearing on ITV’s This Morning on August 23 to promote his BBC documentary on badger tuberculosis.
Meanwhile Queen has something for its fans too – it’s a complete overhaul of the band’s 1973 debut album, out on 25 October.
‘This is not just a remaster, this is a brand new 2024 rebuild of the entire Queen Debut album, which, with the benefit of hindsight, we have re-titled Queen 1’ said Brian May. ‘It is the debut album we always dreamed of bringing to you’.
This is indeed the very first time any Queen album has received a new stereo mix, and the 6CD+1LP and book Queen I box set will feature no less than a whopping 63 tracks and 43 new mixes. But away from the impressive numbers, the core album itself is having its original running order restored as the band intended.
