A night of dance splendour

There was excitement in the air at the Footwork Dancesport Championship 2024 as dancers from various dance schools competed for 50 titles in Ballroom, Latin American, and Street Latin dance styles at the Golden Rose banquet hall in Boralesgamuwa on September 8. Competitors, from different age categories performed before the 13-member panel of judges and an enthusiastic audience.
The judges for the finals were Luca Fanny from Italy, Nauris Kalva from the UK, and Ruwan Fernando from Australia, alongside Toni Fernandez, Kevin Nugara, Michelle Mortier, Judy Siriwardhane, Nalinda Subasinghe, Bharatha De Silva, Sandun Gomes, Midushaun Rhodes, Tarja De Silva, and Kessie Lara.
The El Latino Dance Academy, Antonio’s Dance Circle, Sandun’s Dance Academy, Muddrika Dance School, X Arena Dance Academy, Colombo Dance Club, El Mambos, Dance City, Eral’s Dance Academy, Feel the Beat Dance School, and Resh Dance – Kandy were the dance schools represented.
The Footwork International Dance Organization was founded by Dharshan Wijesooriya in 2014.
