New Courses in Commercial Law and Arbitration by ICLP
View(s):The Institute for the Development of Commercial Law and Practice (ICLP), established in 1992 as a non-governmental organisation, is dedicated to advancing commercial law and fostering knowledge in the field. Founded by the business sector, ICLP supports the Government of Sri Lanka in building the necessary legal infrastructure to strengthen the market economy. The organisation is a leading provider of specialised legal education and training on Commercial Arbitration, Construction Adjudication, Shipping Law and Practice, Company Law, Intellectual Property etc.
ICLP is now accepting registrations for the Certificate Course on Commercial Law, which will commence on 16th October 2024 as a hybrid programme at IADRC, WTC, Colombo 1 and by zoom. . This course offers an in-depth exploration of key topics such as Company Law, Employment Law, Intellectual Property Law, Banking Law, Insurance Law, Securities Regime, International Commercial Contracts, Commercial Mediation, Commercial Arbitration etc. Participants will also benefit from expert guidance by an esteemed panel. The course fee is Rs. 55,000, with a concessionary rate of 15% available for certain qualifying participants.
Additionally, ICLP will begin its Certificate Course on Commercial Arbitration on 12th October 2024. The 12-week course, priced at LKR 40,000, will cover essential topics such as arbitration laws, drafting agreements, and enforcing arbitral awards. A discounted fee of LKR 35,000 is available for participants who make full payment upfront. The course also features practical exercises, including mock arbitrations, to provide hands-on experience.
