An all-around performance by Ramiru Perera helped Royal College achieve a convincing 134-run victory over

D.S. Senanayake College in the Under-19 Inter-School cricket encounter concluded at Reid Avenue yesterday.

On the second day, DSS resumed their innings at 144 for 9 but were bowled out for 173, with Ramiru claiming five wickets. In their second innings, Royal was propelled by an unbeaten century from Ramiru, who scored 100 runs off 89 balls, including 10 boundaries. He shared a remarkable 153-run partnership for the third wicket with Vimath Dinsara, who contributed with 57 runs. Royal declared at 206 for 3.

Chasing a target of 249 runs, DSS faltered against the Royal bowling trio of Yenula Perera,
Ranuka Mallawaarachchi, and Ramiru, and were bowled out for just 114 runs.

In other matches, St. Servatius Matara and Karandeniya Central recorded first innings wins against St. Aloysius Galle and St. Peter’s Negombo, respectively. The match between St. Anthony’s Katugastota and
St. Thomas’ in Kandy ended in a draw due to rain.
