Gates Foundation discusses support for school meal programme, farmers
View(s):Support for the school meal programme and for smallholder farmers were discussed at a meeting between Consultant of the Gates Foundation Chandith Samaranayake and President’s Secretary Dr Nandika Sanath Kumanayake at the Presidential Secretariat last week.
The discussion focused on a project aimed at advancing the digital agricultural transformation programme to support smallholder farmers and improve children’s nutrition in Sri Lanka.
Mr Samaranayake explored collaborations on digital public infrastructure (DPI), livestock, and climate-related initiatives.
The Gates Foundation’s leadership is expected to meet with President Anura Kumara Dissanayake to formalise the partnership between the Government of Sri Lanka and the Foundation.
