Sri Lankan Student Udani Samaraweera Receives a Scholarship from BCE to study medicine in Eastern Europe

Udani Samaraweera, a determined student from Lyceum International School Panadura, has received a valuable scholarship from BCE to pursue her dream of studying medicine at Grodno State Medical University in Belarus. She has a strong interest in global health and community service. BCE’s scholarship is focused to support students who wish to pursue their medical careers in overseas arenas. Furthermore, BCE supports students of different diverse populations to achieve their medical dream, particularly those who show a commitment in medical career progression. “Udani’s passion and dedication to medicine are truly inspiring,” said a representative from BCE. “We believe she will make a significant impact in the field.” She started her medical career on the 17th of September 2024. She is excited about the cultural experiences that she is exploring in Belarus right now. Her family, friends, and school community are proud of her accomplishments and look forward to seeing her thrive in her future endeavors.

To make Grodno State Medical University accessible for all Sri Lankan students, the university opened its own country office for Sri Lankan students, “BCE – Belarusian Center for Education” with the inauguration by the Rector of Grodno State Medical University – Prof. Zhuk Ihar Georgievich, The Vice-Rector for International Relations and Extrabudgetary Activities, GrSMU – Assoc. Prof. Varabyeu Vitali Uladzimiravich and Assoc. Prof. Gushchyna Liudmila Nikolaevna - The Vice Dean of the Medical Faculty for International Students.
