Commemorating World News Day celebrated on September 28, theSri Lanka Press Institute (SLPI) hosted a discussion titled “Sustaining Journalism: How Important is Journalism Today?” on October 1 at its premises.

The panel headed by Deputy Editor (Investigations) of the Sunday Times Namini Wijedasa, Bureau Chief of the Agence France-Presse (AFP) Amal Jayasinghe and Local Correspondent to Al Jazeera Minelle Fernandez was moderated by Senior Journalist and Communications Professional Shan Wijethunge.
