We go back a long way in Hulftsdorp, says AG in welcome address
View(s):Welcoming the newly appointed judges, Attorney General Parinda Ranasinghe, PC, stated that the four Justices together “bring in an enormous amalgam of knowledge, experience, competency, and a high degree of skill to the sanctified precincts of the Court of Appeal,”. He added that this will no doubt “augment and deepen the overall excellence of the dispensation of justice in our country and the much-needed credibility.”
The AG added that a further reason that gives him great pleasure in delivering a welcome address to the judges is because “we go back a long way in Hulftsdorp.”
He noted that while Justices Gihan Kulathunga, Damith Thotawatte and Mahen Gopallawa were his contemporaries at the Attorney-General’s Department, Justice Amal Ranaraja was his contemporary at Law College.
President of the Bar Association of Sri Lanka Anura Meddegoda, PC also spoke.
