Lecture on Dr. Ananda Coomaraswamy’s contributions globally
View(s):Dr. Subashini Pathmanathan will deliver a lecture on Dr. Ananda K. Coomaraswamy’s contribution to art, culture and religion globally, with a focus on India and Sri Lanka, on October 7 at 6 p.m. at the Swamy Vivekanda Cultural Centre (Cultural wing of the High Commission of India for Sri Lanka).
The lecture will be followed by a dance recital by the honours degree dance students of the University of Sri Jayewardenepura of the Language, Culture, and Performing Arts Faculty. They will illustrate a Sanskrit version of Nathikeswarar’s Abinaya Darpana, which was translated by Dr. Coomaraswamy under the title of ‘Abinaya Darpana’, with appropriate dance items.
