Colombo and Jaffna will clash for the National Super League Limited Overs title, today at the Rangiri Dambulla Stadium starting at 2:30p.m. With all national players set to take the field, this promises to be a crunch match.

Colombo, led by Charith Asalanka, finished the league campaign as the top team, securing seven wins against Dambulla, Galle, Kandy (twice), and Jaffna, ending with 14 points. In contrast, Jaffna, captained by Janith Liyanage, won four matches against Colombo, Dambulla, Kandy, and Galle, finishing with nine points.

Asalanka’s Colombo boasts a formidable lineup featuring Dasun Shanaka, Kusal Perera, Avishka Fernando, Ashen Bandara, Vishad Randika, and Shevon Daniel in the batting department. Their bowling attack includes Pramod Madushan, Nishan Peiris, Dilum Sudeera, and skipper Asalanka himself.

For Jaffna, Liyanage will be a key player alongside Sandun Weerakkody, Ron Chandragupta, Hasitha Boyagoda, Mohamed Shamaz, and Lahiru Madusana. They will look to their bowling unit, which includes Binura Fernando, Isitha Wijesundara, Pulina Tharanga, Liyanage, Lahiru, and Tharindu Ratnayake.

Given that both teams have claimed victory over each other in their previous meetings, this final promises to be an intriguing battle. Jaffna, having finished second to Dambulla last year, will be eager to lay their hands on the title.
