Smedley gets new president, exco
View(s):Toastmaster (TM) Shehan Gunathilake, the newly-installed President of Smedley Toastmasters Club, said his objective as a leader is to create opportunities for his member-base to grow.
Gunathilake gave a glimpse on his goals as he got inducted with his six executive committee members at their 21st Installation at the Galle Face Hotel, recently.
“At the end of the year, I want every Smedlian to feel proud of the journey they have come. But the hard truth is it doesn’t happen by itself. You have to put yourself to face new challenges. But my main objective is creating opportunities for our members to grow.”

TM Gihan Samarawickrama, the VP Membership in the new team, won the Outstanding TM of the year award. Samarawickrama was adjudged the winner for his contribution to the club through speaking and leadership capacities in the year.
