Over 1,200 Kurunegala Students Gain Life-Changing Financial Skills through Pan Asia Bank
View(s):A transformative Financial Heroes workshop, in partnership with Akshi Media and with technical support from the Central Bank of Sri Lanka, was recently conducted in several schools across the Kurunegala district, reaching over 1,200 A-level students. The workshop was designed to teach students on, Financial Management, Digital Finance, Entrepreneurship, and budgeting.
Pan Asia Bank understands that A-level students are on the verge of making significant financial decisions whether planning for higher education, managing personal budgets, or preparing to enter the workforce. The financial literacy skills imparted during the workshop will have a lasting impact, enabling these students to make informed financial choices, manage debt, and develop smart savings and investment habits.
The workshop was held at Ibbagamuwa Central College, Ibbagamuwa Model School, Gokarella Central College, and Welagedara Central College. Students participated in interactive sessions designed to foster a deeper understanding of budgeting, saving, investing, and managing debt.
“We believe financial literacy is a cornerstone for personal and community development,” said Director/CEO Naleen Edirisinghe. “Through this programme, we aim to empower the younger generation with the tools to make informed financial decisions, setting the stage for a more financially secure future.”
The Financial Heroes initiative is part of an ongoing effort to create a financially literate society, with future workshops planned in other regions of Sri Lanka.
