Ves Pelandavime ceremony for 14 artisans in Nuwara Eliya
View(s):The ‘Ves Pelandavime’ ceremony or the inaugural dance performance of dancers trained in Nuwara Eliya Cultural Centre was held at the Ashokarama Temple, Nuwara Eliya recently.
Ashoka Viharadhikari Rev Walapane Kowila Thero, the head of the Sangha, organised the ceremony with the participation of the guests, Nuwara Eliya Divisional Secretary DA P Danansuriya.
Chaturangani Wilgamulla, Director of Nuwara Eliya Cultural Centre and parents organised the event. 14 artisans and craftsmen around Nuwara Eliya became full-fledged dancers with the inaugural ceremony. -Shelton Hettiaarachchi
