ARRIVAL from Sweden to bring sounds of ABBA
Sri Lankans have always loved ABBA, and here’s a chance to relive their music! “Music of ABBA, ARRIVAL from Sweden”, hailed as the world’s most authentic ABBA tribute show, will bring the timeless music of ABBA to the Paradise Beach, Mount Lavinia Hotel on November 23.
This evening promises an unforgettable experience for fans old and new.
What sets ARRIVAL from Sweden apart from any other tribute band is that it was founded by an original ABBA member, and features several musicians who have played alongside ABBA legends. Among them are Roger Palm, who drummed on iconic tracks such as “Dancing Queen” and “Thank You for the Music,” and Mike Watson, who not only played bass on memorable songs but also graced the cover of ABBA’s Waterloo album dressed as Napoleon.
The line-up also includes Finn Sjöberg, who performed live with ABBA during their tours, Åke Sundqvist, one of the world’s top percussionists who took part in all ABBA tours, and Janne Schaffer, who recorded 47 of ABBA’s songs. Additionally, saxophonists Ulf Andersson and Janne Kling have contributed to numerous ABBA recordings.
ARRIVAL from Sweden has toured over 80 countries, and performed over 120 times in USA, entertained audiences of up to 50,000, capturing the essence of ABBA’s legendary performances. Their incredible musicianship and captivating stage presence make them the perfect ambassadors for the music that has touched hearts worldwide.
Anura Dewapura, Chief Operating Officer of Mount Lavinia Hotel, is delighted to host the band. “We are proud to bring “Music of ABBA, ARRIVAL from Sweden” to Sri Lanka, a country where ABBA’s music has always been cherished. This event will not only celebrate their timeless hits but also uplift our community through the joy of music.
“We believe this show will create lasting memories for everyone in attendance. As the country emerges from challenging times, we invite everyone to join us in experiencing the magic of ABBA, a band that has resonated deeply with fans in Sri Lanka for decades,” Mr. Dewapura said.
Sri Lankan band, Redeemers, will also be featured in the show. Their energetic performances and connection to the local music scene make them the perfect complement to this ABBA show.
