Be a part of Senior Citizens’ Scrabble Tournament
View(s):The Sri Lanka Association of Senior Citizens is organising its annual All Island Scrabble Tournament on October 27 at the Hilton Hotel. The tournament is open to all Scrabble players, 55 years and older.
The tournament will be played from 8.30 a.m. to 6.30 p.m. (including the prize giving). There will be two categories, Championship and Plate, for expert players and less competitive players, respectively.
The entry fee is Rs. 2000. The dictionary used will be Collins Scrabble Words 2021 for both categories.
Lunch will not be provided, but the hotel will provide mid-morning and tea time snacks and beverages.
There are many benefits of playing scrabble for senior citizens, such as keeping Alzheimer’s disease and other forms of dementia at bay and opportunities for socializing and forming friendships.
