The beauty, complexity and spontaneity of everyday life, as seen through the lens of an acclaimed street photographer, is the focus of ‘Good Day Bad Day But Everyday’ which will be on from October 20-27 at Siam Nivasa, the Royal Thai Embassy’s multifunctional cultural and exhibition centre in Colombo.

Tavepong Pratoomwong

Street photographer Tavepong Pratoomwong’s new exhibition is presented by the Royal Thai Embassy in collaboration with the Streets of Colombo (SOC) photography collective.

A collection of Tavepong’s most outstanding street photographs, taken during his daily walks since 2014, this exhibition captures the extraordinary within the ordinary, the unpredictable and often surreal moments that occur in the stream of everyday life.

Tavepong’s work has been exhibited across Asia, North America and Europe, and he has won numerous prestigious awards, including 1st place at the Miami Street Photography Festival and the Los Angeles Center of Photography.

“Art is a universal language, and Tavepong’s work is an honest, humorous reflection of life on the streets which speaks directly to the heart. We are immensely pleased to co-host this event with the Streets of Colombo,” the Royal Thai embassy said in a press release.

Said Johann Latiff, the founder of Streets of Colombo (SOC), “We are thrilled to be the cohosts of this event and to meet Tavepong, whose work we have long admired. Through this exhibition, we hope to inspire more photographers in Sri Lanka to take up street photography and raise awareness of this particular genre of photography.”
