Yohani ‘Kelle’ reached for Grammys
View(s):Sri Lankan singing sensation Yohani de Silva announced last week that her debut album ‘Kella’ has been officially submitted for consideration for the Best Global Music Album category at the 67th Annual Grammy Awards.
‘This one is for my Sri Lanka, for our stories, our sounds and for everyone who believed in the dream of taking Sri Lankan music from home to the world’ Yohani shared via a post on her Instagram. 
The album ‘Kella’ is just submitted for consideration in the Best Global Music Album category and the nominations list will be released towards the end of this year.
Currently with 1.5 million views, ‘Kella’, comprises of 14 tracks musically composed entirely by herself and produced and Directed by Dilanjan Seneviratne. Music Producers of the album are Pasan Liyanage, Shenal Maddumage, Hibshi, Lahiru Perera and Wayanaka.
Yohani Diloka de Silva is a Sri Lankan singer-songwriter, rapper, and YouTuber. She started her music career as a YouTuber. She soon gained recognition for her rap cover of ‘Deviyange Bare’ and released many covers of her singing and rapping which have earned her the title ‘Rap Princess’ of Sri Lanka. She rose to prominence and gained global recognition for her cover of ‘Manike Mage Hithe’. She also became the first
Sri Lankan female singer to surpass a total of 3.60 million subscribers on YouTube.
