Sri Lanka, produced a commanding performance on the second day of the competition, thrashing debutants Saudi Arabia 118-5. The game, held at the Koramangala Indoor Stadium in Bengaluru, saw
Sri Lanka lead 59-2 at halftime, and they continued their dominance throughout all four quarters.

Sri Lanka, eyeing their third consecutive title, were in control from the start. They led 27-2 at the end of the first quarter, and with each passing minute, the gap between the two teams widened. The
Sri Lankan team, ranked among the best in Asia, showed their class. Led by their sharpshooting goal shooter Thishala Algama, who scored with 100 percent accuracy, Sri Lanka netted the majority of points, helping them surpass the 100-point mark midway through the final quarter. By the time the match ended, Saudi Arabia had managed only five points.

In the third quarter, Sri Lanka’s lead had ballooned to 91-3, a clear sign of their superior skill and strategy. The Saudi team, despite their efforts, could not cope with the pace and precision of Sri Lanka’s attacking play.

Earlier in the tournament, Sri Lanka opened their campaign with a comfortable 73-44 victory over the Philippines. After a strong start with a 24-8 lead in the first quarter, they extended their advantage to 43-17 by halftime. Although the Philippines mounted a brief challenge in the third quarter, scoring 17 points to
Sri Lanka’s 13, the Sri Lankans responded strongly in the final quarter, securing the win with a 17-10 performance.

Sri Lanka will now face India in their third match of the tournament, scheduled for today at 7:30pm Sri Lanka time. With their performances so far, the defending champions are clearly the team to beat.
