Scholarships open for studying at Russian State universities
View(s):The Embassy of the Russian Federation in Sri Lanka has informed the Foreign Affairs Ministry that the Russian side had commenced the selection of Lankan citizens for scholarships allocated by its government for the 2025/26 academic year.
Scholarships are available for admission for bachelor/specialty degrees, master’s and postgraduate research degrees at Russian State universities according to the list of degree programmes available at https://educatio-in-russia.com online open enrolment system.
The admission campaign for foreign citizens to Russian universities for the academic year 2025/26 started on October 7. Lankan candidates are required to register online at https://eclucation-in-russia.com. The deadline to submit applications is set for December 31.
According to the letter issued by the Foreign Ministry to the Education Ministry, the first competitive selection will be performed by the Russian Centre of Science and Culture in Colombo (the cultural section of the Russian Embassy). While the second stage approval of selected candidates would be done by the Ministry
of Science and Education of the Russian Federation and the relevant Russian universities.
