Gloomy weather, thundershowers to continue

Showers or thundershowers will occur in various locations across the island during the evening or night, the Meteorology Department said.
The Western, Sabaragamuwa, and North-western provinces, as well as the Galle, Matara, and Mannar districts are expected to be affected.
Some areas in the Western, Sabaragamuwa, and North-western provinces may experience fairly heavy rainfall exceeding 75 mm.
Additionally, strong winds reaching up to 40 km/h may occur in the Northern,
North-central, and North-western provinces, along
with Trincomalee and Hambantota districts.
The public are advised to take precautionary measures to minimise damages caused by temporary localised strong winds and lightning during thundershowers.
