D.S. Senanayake College outplayed St. Joseph’s College as they won on first innings their Inter-School Under-13 Division I cricket encounter at Darley Road. The Joes were bundled out for a mere 82 runs in the first innings and were no match for D.S. Senanayake, who made an imposing 182 for 4 declared. Their captain and opening batsman Miyuru Bandara made 100 in just 91 balls, hitting 11 fours and two sixes as he dominated the bowlers.

Bandara together with his opening partner Yasasiru Silva (42) put on 94 runs for the first wicket.

For the Joes only one batsman put up a fight with Santhosh Jayaprakash making 51 with seven fours in their total of 82 in reply. In their second essay the Joes showed some improvement but again only Jayaprakash put up some resistance as he made 38 in a total of 97 for 4 at the close.
