Teacher Recognition Ceremony (TRC): Honouring Zahira College Educators’ Legacy and Excellence
View(s):Zahira College is set to hold its much-anticipated Teacher Recognition Ceremony (TRC) on November 3rd, 2024, at Waters’ Edge, Battaramulla. Organized by the College, under the stewardship of Mr.Fouzul Hameed – Chairman and Mr.Trizviiy Marikkar – Principal along with the Parents Teachers’ Association, TRC 2024 stands as a distinguished occasion dedicated to honouring the commitment, excellence, and influence of Zahira’s educators.
The TRC has become an esteemed platform that celebrates teachers’ milestones and achievements under various accolades. This year, an impressive 27 teachers who have served Zahira College for over 25 years will be honoured with ‘Service Excellence Awards’, commemorating their long-standing commitment. Additionally, 14 outstanding educators from diverse academic administrative sections will receive the ‘Performance Excellence – Silver’ award. The most coveted titles of the evening, however, are the ‘Performance Excellence – Gold’ and the ‘Most Popular Teacher,’ the latter to be chosen through an engaging live vote adding excitement and engagement to the event. In a show of appreciation for all who educate and inspire at Zahira, each attending teacher will also receive a cash award, with this year’s prize pool generously totaling Rs 2.1 million.
A standout feature of the ceremony is the ‘Guru Talent’ showcase, where teachers will perform the winning drama from this year’s Drama Competition, highlighting their artistic talents and camaraderie beyond the classroom.
The roots of TRC trace back to 2007, when the Past Prefects’ Association initiated the event as a heartfelt tribute to the teachers who shaped their lives. Over the years, TRC has grown to be a staple of Zahira’s culture.
