Bringing back the unforgettable sounds of ’70s ABBA
View(s):- Original ABBA guitarist Mike Watson will be a part of ARRIVAL from Sweden’s show on Nov. 23
Excitement is building fast for the Mount Lavinia Hotel’s grand event this November: it’s the ultimate ABBA show and it happens at the Paradise Beach on Saturday, November 23!
The “Music of ABBA, ARRIVAL from Sweden” concert is probably the closest one can get to the iconic Swedish band that rocked the music world of the 1970s.
The show is made special by the presence of the original ABBA guitarist Mike Watson who will be joining the Sri Lanka tour of ARRIVAL from Sweden. Mike Watson, who not only played bass on several memorable songs was on the cover of ABBA’s Waterloo album dressed as Napoleon.
ARRIVAL, recognised as the world’s most authentic ABBA tribute show, will present a vibrant celebration of ABBA’s timeless hits, offering an unforgettable experience for fans of all ages. ARRIVAL from Sweden has toured over 80 countries, and performed over 120 times in the USA.
What sets ARRIVAL from Sweden apart from any other tribute bands is that it was founded by an original ABBA member, and features several musicians who have played alongside ABBA legends. Among them are Roger Palm, who drummed on memorable tracks such as ‘Dancing Queen’ and ‘Thank You for the Music’ and Finn Sjöberg, who performed live with ABBA during their tours, Åke Sundqvist, one of the world’s top percussionists who took part in all ABBA tours, and Janne Schaffer, who recorded 47 of ABBA’s songs.
Saxophonists Ulf Andersson and Janne Kling have contributed to numerous ABBA recordings and the presence of all these leading musicians enables the band to recreate that ABBA magic that captured the hearts of music fans around the world and present an unforgettable show.
The presence of Sri Lankan band, Redeemers, known for their energetic performances and strong connection to the local music scene will enhance the evening.
