One Direction Songs Surge in UK Charts

The shocking death of Liam Payne, a former member of One Direction has resulted in high sales and streaming of the music of the band. It resulted with two songs re-entering the UK singles chart top 10 this week. The boy band that helped propel Payne music career had ‘Night Changes’, re- enter at No. 6. Back in 2014 it peaked at No.7. The laid back pop folk song is taken from the album ‘Four’. The other song from One Direction ‘Story Of My Life’ re-entered singles chart at No.9 this week. In 2013, the same track peaked at No.2. ‘Story Of My Life’ is taken from One Direction’s album ’Midnight Memories’. Elsewhere on the singles chart several other One Direction and Liam Payne tracks have re-appeared on the chart from the respective back catalogue as fans moan his untimely death. Meanwhile a posthumous single by Liam Payne titled ‘Do No Wrong’ with Sam Pounds that was due for release on 1st November has been put on hold until the family of Payne are comfortable, and also as he wants all proceeds to go to a charity of their choosing.

Rose & Bruno Mars Score Major UK Chart Debut with ‘APT’

The duet ’APT’ by Rose & Bruno Mars was the highest new entry on the UK singles chart this week as it debuted at No.4. The pop punk pop rock track is the first top 10 hit for the New Zealand born and Australian raised artist and first for the K –pop artist too. The song title ‘APT’ draws inspiration from the popular Korean drinking game “the apartment game”. The song is the debut release from Rose’s second solo album titled ‘Rose’. She is the only member of the all- girl K-pop band Blackpink to score a top 10 hit in the UK. For the much experienced collaborator Bruno Mars, ‘APT’ is his 13th UK top appearance either in his own right or as in a featured capacity. His most recent other song doing well on the same chart is ‘Die With A Smile’ with Lady Gaga. ‘APT’ samples the 1982 song ’Mickey’ by Toni Basil.

50,000 Tickets Canceled for 2025 Oasis Reunion Tour
Around 50,000 ticket holders to the Oasis reunion tour of 2025 in the UK have been cancelled, as they were found to been purchased in violation rules, such as excess of tickets per household per show, and using multiple identities. This was done to prevent secondary ticketing companies of reselling tickets for big profits. Tickets for the reunion tour are only handled by Ticketmaster and resale partner Twickets.
