A ward winning editor with over 15 years of films and television industry experience, Randhika Nadeeshan Wijemanna venture into direction with Sinhala film ‘Wishma’ (The Blessing) which was released in cinemas from Friday, November 1.

Story and screenplay written by Shiraj Razeen and Ruhunage Sandamalee the film portrays the mystical adventurous journey of a child in search of his father. The film was directed and edited by Randika Nadeeshan Wijemanne. The film uses the latest technology including 5.1 surround sound.

‘Wishma’ features Saranga Disasekara, Dinakshi Priuyasad, Roshan Pilapitiya,, Umayangana Wickremesinghe, Nulukshi Madhishika, Rohan Paul, Anu Waragoda, Sarath Peiris, Mahesh Randeniya, Kumaral Ranepura, Dilip Manohara, Lakshman Amarasekara, Nihal Gamage, Vidya Probhadini, Sandun Gamage, Pushpa Gunawardena, Nilanthi Ranasinghe and many others in the cast. The film features child stars Onel Damsath, Naveen Saumya, Malsha Divyanjali and Deshan Chamara

The film contains about eight songs and lyrics written by Manjula Bandara and Sameera Weerasinghe and vocal renditions are by Sameera Weerasinghe. Kalpana Kavindi, Nishi Adhikari and Onel Damsath

‘Being a family entertainer for all ages, the film is packed with humour, fantasy, magic, mysticism thrills, actions and romance. The film contains several important social message as well. The main message delivered to society is the notion of shedding all differences pertaining to race, religion, cast creed and social class’ said filmmaker Randhika Nadeeshan Wijemanna

Behind the screen, cinematographed by Sisikirana Paranathithana and Nishan Fernando, musical score by Sameera Weerasinghe, assistant director is Prageeth de Silva, art director Nilanthi Ranasinghe, makeup Ubhaya Dissanayake and production manager is Dhammika Gunasena.
